- Blog regularly and often. According to HubSpot, companies who blog 11+ times a month had almost 3x the traffic that those who blogged 0-4 times! But the most important point . . . get started with a couple of blogs a month and then gradually increase the number if you can.

- Include data but always acknowledge the source with a link.
- Develop an email list of followers
- Send links to your blog to your mailing list.
- Post links to your blog on social media
- Multipurpose blog content. Break down your blog into 20 individual points and post one every business day on your favorite social media platform.
- Break up long text with subheads, spacing and bullets to make it more scannable.
- In order to help your blog articles rank higher in search results, your keyword should appear in all of the following: “On-Page” SEO areas: URL, Page Title, Section Header, Subheaders, Main Content, Image ALT Text, and Meta Description.
- Use photos, illustrations to give your blog post eye appeal. Include the title of the blog in the illustration in case someone shares it with a link back to your post.
- Include a form on your blog where readers can subscribe to your emails.
- Promote blog.
- Add a Call to Action at the end of EVERY blog post!

Just what is business blogging?
Blogging is posting to your website’s blog content on topics relevant to your business. Blogging is NOT selling! And it’s NOT talking about just you and your company! It’s providing valuable, requested information to your readers.
There are plenty of blogs out there, but what we’re talking about here is a business blog. A business blog is a marketing platform that supports and encourages business growth. It covers topics in which you are an influencer or expert!
Why should I have a business blog?
Blogging is as important to your business as the Yellowpages used to be! And it’s actually better because you can change and add to your blog as new opportunities arise whereas your YellowPage ad was the same the entire year! Plus it was more expensive than the cost of the time you’ll spend writing your business blog.
Remember going door to door to get leads? Blogging is a whole lot easier than that and more effective as well! According to Hubspot, 60% of businesses who blog acquire more customers. And blogging is the heart of all of your content marketing efforts and is fodder for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, email newsletters, e-books, etc.
But what should I blog about?
The prospect of coming up with topics for your blog may be overwhelming but inspiration is everywhere. . . if you know where to look. Here are some places you can visit to get your creative juices flowing.

Fall is nearly here which means your workload may slow down a bit in anticipation of the winter. So this is a great time to take a look at your web site and see if improvements can be made. This checklist should help. Check each statement that is true of your site. Then start correcting anything not checked.

If your site isn't performing as you would want, check these reasons!
1) No fresh content. If you want to encourage repeat visitors, you must have a section that constantly changes.
2) No Call to action. Tell your visitors what you want them to do with a “can’t miss it” bright call to action!
3) Talks about me, me, me. Visitors want to know what you can do for them, not about how wonderful your company is.
4) Difficult to read. If type is too small with little spacing between lines, it is difficult to read and visitors will leave.
5) No relevant graphics. Graphics should be both eye-catching and relevant to the focus of the site.
6) No focus. If you focus on helping your customers, your web site should focus on the same thing.
7) Not optimized for mobile viewing. More and more web visitors do so on their smart phones, so be sure to test your site on a mobile device.
8) Poor description. When you Google a topic, the sentence about each site that shows up in the search results is the description. Write your description full of benefit statements!
9) Not optimized with fast-loading graphics. Huge, non-optimized graphics bog down the site causing it to load very slowly. A Jupiter Research survey found that 33% of broadband shoppers are unwilling to wait more than four seconds for a web page to load. (Akamai 2006).
10) No subheads to enable scanning. If you think about the way you view a site, you probably scan subheads – so use subheads generously on your site so someone can scan the site and “get” the main idea!
10.5) No easily found contact information. Your phone number should be boldly displayed in the header of each page to enable visitors to quickly find it and call you!
